So what is the cheapest money can buy Ford? Pat on the back if you answered Ford Ka, shaking his head or not (answers, even the title of the article!) Yes, after a staggering 13 years, the Ka is still strong, but now had a makeover ...
To invent a phrase well-carved "if it is not broke do not fix it" and to be honest, despite the progress Ka age did not seem dated and even promoted the wheels of competition. I used to drive the Ka when they want to take the coupe for a spin and found always a riot, with the 1.3 liter engine pulling a car weighing as much as a sack of sugar and a good rhythm. Even if the form of a bull which is always good, even if the thin tires began to tell if you over-zealous.
It's a fashion accessory as much as a car, the type of item you want to find the head protruding from the bag and not being crowned with oil. It was too cheap, Ford with a new starting as little as £ 4995. Yes, there were interior doors painted metal skin instead of the sumptuous and well right shifter land as a minivan, without any attempt to aesthetics, but it had charm.
So when I say that the new Ka is a million miles away from that, would right to start worrying. The first thing that catches the attention that arises is how the new version. It is always very funky, but it is essentially a Ford Fiesta that has been washing over a very hot temperature. This is not a bad thing that the new Fiesta is not only a great player, but a vehicle style brilliantly. The Ka is not as pretty though without my glasses I could not tell the difference can not be that bad.
To drive the car is very similar to the new Fiat 500 - in fact the same thing. The reason is quite simple, actually, both the Ka and 500 are constructed in the same factory in Poland using the same parts. That's Ka is not a totally new design, after everything. Do not despair if the associations are not necessarily a bad thing, just to see Starsky and Hutch and Tango and Cash. The 500 is a damn to drive and therefore the Ka, with this equally cold feeling and the excitement of the city as a small car should be.
Inside is a massive improvement of the output of the car, including a space-age center console with silver finish and matching door handles Art Deco. Even the gear lever seems fine now, because it exceeds the fascia board, falling easily hand. The seats are firm but hold it in place and the driving position is good, unless you are over six feet. When you consider that most Ka property are women, do not think it will be a problem.
One thing though, is the flagship. For all the good that the rest of the car, it is noteworthy that is darker than the ASBO boy with a pea for a brain. The normal bundle I'd go to check they were when I switched to full beam the situation worsened as you approach the traffic keeps flashing and blinding me say that my lights were too bright, but the switch to high beam no perceptible difference from the riding position. I had a similar problem with my current car and bought some very powerful (but legal) replacement bulbs that have improved things much. Suggest this is the first accessory you buy for the new Ka.
I feel that I have put a damper on the Ka, but Ford remains an "economic in the current economic climate, GM has had to be reasonable and build, in collaboration with Fiat and, unfortunately, the lights have gone through the network. Whatever, the rest of the car is so good (with well above interior) to the old Ka, just with a more adult feel it does seem a tad dated old man when parked next to each other. Version costs £ 9295 Zetec 1.2 liters and returns an impressive 55.4mpg, which is miserable road tax costs £ 35 per year.
Just think with everything you can save money buying replacement bulbs you want.
